Five Habits of the Healthy
There is never any magic pill or secret that people don't tell you when it comes to eating healthy or living a healthy lifestyle. That would be awesome if there was but for now there are certain habits you can adopt that will change the way you live and eat allowing you to make the transition to a healthier you.
Rest Time
This is so important and the foundation for your day. This is what determines how well your immune system runs. You feel better when you're rested, mentally you become healthier which helps you physically become healthier. Going to bed at a set time every night and cutting of your exposure to light will help. So sitting in front of a computer screen or tv will hinder your melatonin production which will make it harder to sleep. When you go to bed actually go to bed keep it dark and set your intentions on a rejuvenating rest.
Diet full of nutrients
Surprise, surprise your body acts in direct correlation with what you feed it. Feed it crap it will feel like crap and you will be sick and tired. Feed it delicious nutrient packed foods it will rewards you with feeling good. The best way to do this is too limit your sugar intake, you would be amazed at how much processed sugar is in the things we eat. Sugar suppresses your immune system so taking away refined sugar only makes sense.
The arts of stress relief
Stress is a silent killer, it effects your immune system and your mood. People who get sick frequently are usually stressed and living a unhealthy lifestyle. Stressed needs to be addressed and managed, it will not go away. There are things you can do to manage your stress. Massage, yoga and acupuncture are great options. They lower blood pressure and reduces stress and tension.
Cold Showers/ Baths
This one sounds like the least appealing, especially in the winter, but a col bath helps with the activity of the white blood cells. Which in return help destroy bacteria, bad pathogens, and viruses. Even though a cold shower might make you cringe, it will help build a stronger defense system for your body.
A glass half full attitude
When it's warm and sunny outside you can't help but be in a better mood than when it's cold and miserable outside. You have to always look at life that it's warm and sunny outside. Health is tied to your attitude, it also makes it easier to live a healthy life when you're positive about it. What's funny is that health people actually in turn have a better outlook on life.
